The Degree programme will combine studying and practical coaching experience as well as offering students the opportunity to gain recognised coaching qualifications. After two years you will gain a Foundation Degree and after three years you will gain a full BSc. (Hons).

Year One

  • Academic Research and Study Skills

  • Introduction to Sports Coaching

  • Introduction to Sports Science for Coaching

  • Introduction to Sports Development

  • Managing Sport

  • Sports Development in Practice

 

Year Two

  • Project Management

  • Sport Placement (double module)

  • Community Sports Development

  • Physical Education and School Sport

  • Sports Coaching and Leadership 

Year Three

  • Creatively Teaching Physical Education, Health and Wellbeing (20-credits)

  • Critical Issues in Sports Coaching and Leadership (20-credits)

  • Strategic Sports Development (20-credits)

  • Leadership in Sport (20-credits)

  • Applied Professional Project (40-credits)

OUR PROGRAMME

The course is taught via online lectures, practical sessions and tutorials from the USW teaching staff. This is then supported by Bristol Rovers tutors and mentors. Students also gain valuable work experience by coaching on the wide range of Community Trusts’ projects.

PREREQUISITES TO APPLY

  • BTEC Diploma – MM (64 UCAS Tariff Points)

  • BTEC Extended Diploma – MPP (64 UCAS Tariff Points)

  • 64 UCAS tariff points from A-Levels or other equivalence

  • 3 GCSE's at Grade 4 or above

  • Endorsement from Bristol Rovers Community Trust.

ASSOCIATED COSTS

£8000 per year, for year 1 and year 2 (tbc by the university)

£9000 per year for year 3 (tbc by the university)

Fees can be covered by a student loan
