Fans, former players and local celebrities unite to raise awareness and vital funds for mental health support across the City.

Bristol came together in remarkable fashion on Friday 22 May 2026 as Ashton Gate Stadium played host to the hugely successful Talk Club Cup - an unforgettable evening that united football, community and mental fitness for an important cause.

Organised in partnership with Bristol City, Robins Foundation and Talk Club, the event saw former players from Bristol Rovers and Bristol City take to the pitch alongside local celebrities in a powerful demonstration of how football rivalry can be used as a force for good.

With supporters from both sides of the city proudly represented in the stands, the atmosphere throughout the evening was one of unity, positivity and shared purpose. Fans of Bristol Rovers and Bristol City came together to help raise awareness around mental health, break down stigma and generate vital funds that will directly support mental fitness programmes across Bristol.

The event was a fantastic success both on and off the pitch, with supporters embracing the opportunity to celebrate Bristol’s football community while backing an issue that impacts people from all walks of life. Funds raised from the evening will help Bristol Rovers Community Trust continue delivering important mental health and wellbeing initiatives throughout the region.

The evening also highlighted the incredible collaborative spirit between clubs, charities and the wider community, with everyone involved playing their part in delivering a professionally organised and meaningful event.

Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO Adam Tutton said:
“The Talk Club Cup was a brilliant example of what can be achieved when Bristol comes together behind an important cause. Seeing supporters from both Bristol Rovers and Bristol City united in raising awareness for mental fitness was incredibly powerful, and we are hugely grateful to everybody who helped make the evening such a success. The funds raised will make a real difference to the mental health programmes we deliver across our communities, helping us continue to support people who need it most.”

Bristol Rovers Community Trust would like to place on record a huge thank you to all of the former players, local celebrities and supporters who made the journey to Ashton Gate Stadium and contributed to such a special occasion.

Special thanks also go to Bristol City, Robins Foundation and Talk Club for their collaboration, support and hard work in helping bring the event to life.

The Talk Club Cup demonstrated the very best of Bristol football - not divided by rivalry, but united by community, compassion and the shared goal of improving mental fitness for everyone.
