Father Michael Healey and the Royal Dragoon Guards lead a moving ceremony at the Memorial Gates.
Today, Friday 7th November, Bristol Rovers Football Club held its annual Remembrance Service - one of the most important and heartfelt events in the club’s calendar.
Players, staff, trustees, and supporters gathered at the Memorial Gates at 10.45am to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to their country. Representatives from Bristol Bears Rugby, Bristol City Football Club, and the 48 Combination Rugby Clubs also joined us in a united act of remembrance.
The service was led by Father Michael Healey alongside members of the Royal Dragoon Guards, who guided the ceremony with great dignity and reflection. As the club and guests stood together in silence, we remembered the sacrifices of those who have fallen in conflicts past and present, and gave thanks for their courage, commitment, and service.
As part of our weekend fixtures, a minute’s silence will also take place before Saturday’s match against Gillingham, allowing supporters and players alike to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served.
In the words of Laurence Binyon’s timeless poem For the Fallen:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.”
We will remember them.
We would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the 48 Combination Rugby Clubs, Royal Dragoon Guards, our trustees, staff, students, and all who attended and took part in today’s service. Your presence, respect, and reflection helped make this a truly meaningful occasion of remembrance and unity.

Hey folks, I found this while pretending to work and failing miserably. The part on Usyk bets stood out because it talked openly about risk and uncertainty instead of acting like outcomes are obvious. Watching boxing from the UK, that honesty felt refreshing. The tone was relaxed, almost like a forum reply rather than an article. I leaned back after reading it, feeling it had genuinely helped organise my thoughts.
This was a respectful and thoughtfully written tribute that captures the significance of the remembrance service with sincerity. The way you highlighted community involvement and reflection really conveys the emotional importance of the event. I recently read a similar community-focused reflection on https://www.inspereza.com/, and it’s encouraging to see how different platforms continue to preserve and honor shared history. Thank you for documenting such a meaningful occasion.
