Community equipment specialists Medequip are pleased to announce their latest local sponsorship initiative, partnering with Bristol Rovers Community Trust. The partnership is part of Medequip’s ongoing community engagement programme, giving back to the areas where they provide equipment and services designed to keep people independent in their own homes for longer.
The Trust was founded in 1992 as part of the Professional Footballers Association’s nationwide Football in the Community initiative, originally to encourage children into the game. Since then, now under the governance of the Football League Trust, the focus and scope has developed significantly.
Today, Bristol Rovers Community Trust works right across the local community, with programmes covering aspects such as social inclusion, health, education and sports participation. Working under the ethos of ‘Enhancing, Elevating and Improving Lives in Bristol’ the Trust has participants ranging in age from 4 to 80+.
“Bristol Rovers Community Trust is founded on philosophies which match our own commitment to improving the lives of individuals,” stated South West General Manager, Michaela Harris for Medequip. “Our focus on co-production and cooperation sits alongside the Trust’s ethics and values of promoting social inclusion, improving the health of boys, girls, men and women and enhancing and improving life choices.”
“We aim to engage and inspire people of all ages as well as unite the communities in which they live,” said Nathan Hallett-Young, Head of Sport and Recruitment from the Trust. “Support from partner organisations like Medequip who support people in the Bristol area helps us to expand our reach and have a positive impact on even more of our community.”
