Alex Rodman & Alfie Kilgour support Tackling Loneliness Together project

Bristol Rovers first-team players, Alex Rodman and Alfie Kilgour teamed up with the Community Trust once again to deliver computer tablets to some very special supporters.

The EFL Tackling Loneliness Project which is funded by the DCMS, have enabled clubs and their community departments to reach out to elderly members of our fan base who may be isolating or suffering with loneliness during these difficult times.

The club and the community trust have joined together to make sure that nobody is feeling lonely by sending out hundreds of letters to the over 70's on the club database, along with regular phone calls and face to face visits with members of our 'Extra Time' group.

As part of the funding, the community trust invested in computer tablets to donate to those who have been in isolation or may be struggling during the recent lockdown period. These tablets will enable them to keep in touch with family and friends online, to make sure that they're socially connected to those who are important to them.

Community Trust CEO, Adam Tutton, said: "We're really lucky to have received this funding from the EFL Trust and the DCMS that has enabled us to develop the 'Tackling Loneliness Together' project. I also cannot thank Alex and Alfie enough for helping us to deliver the computer tablets which will make a huge difference to those who have been affected by loneliness during these difficult times."
