Jack Munday has been named as Bristol Rovers FC's Premier League Community Captain in recognition of his dedication to Bristol Rovers Community College and his vital work supporting students.

He was presented with a bespoke print, captain’s armband and pennant by Bristol Rovers First-Team Player, Scott Sinclair ahead of their match against Carlisle United last Saturday.

The Premier League is celebrating Community Captains as part of its ‘More Than A Game’ campaign, which will be visible at all Premier League matches from February 17 to 26, to showcase how its investment into all levels of football and funding for club community programmes positively impacts the lives of millions.

Jack is currently studying a BSC (Hons) in Sports Coaching Development led by the University of South Wales, a teaching assistant at Bristol Rovers Community College and works within numerous community projects as a coach.

Jack started his journey with us as a BTEC student in 2019 and when he enrolled he was an extremely introvert student who was not sure what he wanted his career to look like. Jack completed his 2 year BTEC course and decided to stay with us and complete a 3 year degree programme in Sports Coaching and Development. Jack showed a passion for teaching and completed his work placement hours in the education part of the trust. Jack demonstrated excellent skills and a real desire to learn and is currently completing a Level 4 teaching qualification that will help support his PGCE application in September 2024.

Head of Education, James Lee said "Jack is proof that if students who enrol with us at Bristol Rovers Community College are willing to work hard, then there are opportunities to gain a career in something they love and enjoy. Jack relates extremely well with our current students and is a real role-model. He's fully deserving of being awarded the Premier League Community Captain, and we're really proud of his successes so far."
