A creative, colourful, and inspiring day of expression and storytelling for Key Stage 1 pupils.

Bristol Rovers Community Trust was thrilled to welcome local primary schools to The Memorial Ground for a special Author Day, celebrating creativity, imagination, and the joy of reading and writing. The event brought together Key Stage 1 pupils for an interactive and fun-filled experience centred around English workshops, hands-on activities, and inspiring moments with children’s author Josephine Davies.

A Day Built Around Stories, Skills and Creativity -

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a series of engaging workshops designed to encourage confidence and enjoyment in both reading and writing. Guided by their teachers and supported by Community Trust staff, children explored storytelling, character building and shared reading sessions - all tailored to in a playful and accessible way.

From imagining new worlds to discussing their favourite books, the workshops allowed pupils to express themselves, think creatively, and develop important literacy skills in a setting outside of the classroom.

Frazer Phillips, BRCT Head of Sport:
"It’s been fantastic to see the children enjoying the workshop today. Watching them engage with creative topic of 'storytelling' and begin writing their own stories has been a real highlight, as has seeing them interact with Jo and ask her questions about her career and books. Thank you to everyone who joined us today and making this Author Day such a success."

A highlight of the day was the opportunity for pupils to meet and learn from Jo Davies, a children’s author known for bringing stories to life with energy, humour, and heartfelt messages.

Josephine led interactive sessions where she spoke about his journey as an author, how she comes up with ideas, and what goes into writing a book from start to finish. She shared tips on creativity, encouraged pupils to trust their imagination, and even read extracts from his stories - sparking curiosity and excitement across the room.

Author Day at The Memorial Ground wasn’t just about literacy - it was about celebrating creativity, building confidence, and giving young learners a memorable moment of inspiration. Events like this play an important part in encouraging a lifelong love of reading and writing, and we were delighted to host such enthusiastic young participants.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the local schools who joined us, to the teachers and support staff who helped make the day possible, and of course to Jo for bringing so much energy and imagination to the event.

Today was all about celebrating Author Day at The Memorial Ground with local primary schools! It was amazing to see so many young readers excited about stories and creativity.

Events like this remind us how much community and shared experiences matter — whether it’s discovering a new favorite book, exploring creative resources online, or saving interesting links during your own browsing (like this one party spinz in United Kingdom).

Great energy, great stories, and a lovely way to connect — looking forward to the next celebration!

This platform crossed my path during a late train ride home in the UK when the Wi-Fi barely worked and boredom peaked. Someone in a Telegram chat dropped the link without context, so curiosity won. On https://hellofortune.org.uk/ , I noticed I wasn’t being rushed into decisions. I had a streak of losses that usually pushes me to chase, but I resisted. After a break and a fresh start, one decent win covered the damage. I walked away content, which felt like the right ending.

Came across this following a casual recommendation in a UK sports forum late evening. What kept me engaged was a well-thought section covering Rollino Casino alongside comparisons with other British platforms. Nothing over the top about perfect odds or instant riches. The honest tone was welcome. When I wrapped up reading, I felt good, like I'd found an authentic community post.

What a great example of community engagement. The https://thehomeaides.com event details were easy to follow and inviting. I recently saw a similar community initiative mentioned on thehomeaides, and it really highlighted the value of these gatherings.
