During our recent fixture against Crawley Town FC, Bristol Rovers Community Trust was delighted to welcome 10-year-old super fan Ray for a very special matchday experience.
A huge Rovers supporter, Ray joined us for an unforgettable day at the Memorial Stadium, which included a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, the chance to meet some of his football heroes, and the incredible opportunity to lead the team out as our official matchday mascot.
Ray has faced an incredibly difficult couple of years after doctors discovered three cavernomas on his brain, which led to emergency brain surgery. While he is now on the road to recovery, it continues to be a long journey for both Ray and his family.
To help lift his spirits, we were proud to create a day full of special memories, including providing four match tickets so the whole family could enjoy the game together.
The day became even more memorable when Ray was surprised with a signed Bristol Rovers shirt and a gift bag, presented with the help of two of his favourite players, Jack Sparkes and Shaq Forde, who made sure to spend time with him before heading down to the changing rooms.
Moments like these are a powerful reminder of what football is truly about!
Bristol Rovers Community Trust, Head of Health and Wellbeing Cost Chard, added:
“Ray’s story is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience shown by so many young people facing challenges beyond football. To be able to give him and his family a day filled with joy, connection, and special memories is exactly why our work in the community matters. Football has a unique ability to lift spirits, bring people together, and create moments of hope. Seeing the smile on Ray’s face as he met his heroes and walked out with the team was something none of us will forget.”

Hello from the UK! I started checking out these platforms after seeing people discuss them online. I didn’t go in with any expectations, Chilli Reels Casino just wanted to understand how they work. I spent some time navigating through different sections and slowly got used to it. It’s not complicated, just takes a bit of patience in the beginning.
