Bristol Rovers Community Trust are delighted to announce details of our next mental health evening on Thursday 9th February at The Memorial Stadium, hosted by Geoff Twentyman with special guests James Belshaw, Lee Mansell, Byron Anthony, Rebound with Rovers staff & participants.
The evening will consist of a panel discussion and Q&A with our guests about their experiences with mental health, the pressures of professional sport and how football can be a powerful tool to help with personal mental health issues.
Rebound With Rovers is a mental health programme led by the Community Trust and partnered with the Gloucestershire Football Association. The programme consists of numerous free football sessions throughout the week which includes a check-in session for the participants, led by our fully-trained mental health first-aiders.
Programme lead, Costa Chard said, "I'm delighted to see how Rebound with Rovers has positively impacted nearly one-hundred people since it's inception and with the support from the Gloucestershire FA we hope to expand further across the City. The mental health night on February 9th at The Memorial Stadium is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase the programme and to hear from current and former professionals about their own mental health experiences. I can't thank James, Lee, Byron and Geoff enough for giving up their time to support such an important event."
Entry to the event is set at a voluntary suggested donation of £5 on the night, with all proceeds going to the Rebound With Rovers programme. To register your attendance for the event click here.
I have improved my mental health thanks to the CBI. I feel like I would have been more nervous without it.
