Seven marathons in seven days. It really is crazy when you think about it.
What a week it was for Nik Weeks. A huge Bristol Rovers fan who has been training for over half a year to complete this ridiculous challenge, all to raise money for Bristol Rovers Community Trust and Nick Anderton. A truly selfless challenge that would test his physical and mental strength.
On Saturday 18th March, Nik completed the seventh and final marathon with a lap around The Memorial Stadium alongside his son Archie, before Bristol Rovers hosted promotion challengers Portsmouth.
Weeks said "I just couldn't believe it. "I didn't really know what to expect. I know what I achieved is pretty good - without blowing my own trumpet - it's been hard work, but walking around that pitch and everybody shouting out and clapping... I walked around with my little boy and the Pompey fans were brilliant as well. I didn't want to let anyone down. I gritted my teeth, showed a bit of resilience and got on with it," Weeks added."
Nik has raised an incredible £9,742, not including gift-aid which will take the total over £11,000. An unbelievable achievement and cements his place as firm 'Gas Family' legend!
