A New School Year Begins at Bristol Rovers College!
The 2026/27 school year is officially underway at Bristol Rovers College, with an exciting and action-packed first week welcoming students both new and familiar through the doors.
The beginning of a new academic year is always one of the busiest periods in the school calendar, and this week has been no exception. Alongside welcoming our new cohort of students, we have also welcomed back our returning BTEC and Degree students from the previous academic year.
For our new recruits, the first week has been all about settling into life at Bristol Rovers College, getting familiar with their new surroundings and being introduced to the equipment, facilities and routines that will form an important part of their studies and football development throughout the year.
For our returning students, meanwhile, the start of term represents a new chapter, bringing with it new roles, responsibilities and expectations. Students have also been getting back into their weekly routines, balancing their academic commitments with their football training, coaching and wider responsibilities within the College.
A Busy Tuesday...
Tuesday proved to be one of the busiest days of the week, with all of our BTEC students in attendance for their first training sessions of the new academic year.
For some of our Degree students, it was also an important first step into their new coaching responsibilities, as they took charge of coaching our BTEC teams.
It was a great opportunity for our returning students to put their experience into practice while also giving our new students the chance to begin developing relationships with their teammates and coaches.

We are incredibly proud to already see these values being translated into action across the College. From our new recruits embracing the challenges that come with starting a new academic journey, to our more experienced students supporting their new teammates and classmates, the first week has demonstrated the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment for everyone.
The transition into a new academic year can be challenging, particularly for students taking their first steps into a new environment. Seeing our returning students help welcome and guide the next cohort has been a brilliant example of the kind of community we strive to build at Bristol Rovers College.
