Bristol Rovers Goalkeeper and Community Trust Health Ambassador James Belshaw, spoke to us after the successful Mental Health Event in partnership with Talk Club UK, last Thursday Night.
Belshaw was joined by Bristol Rovers Icon & Head of Coaching at our Academy, Community Trust CEO Adam Tutton and Bristol Rovers Talk Club Capatain Jack Newcombe, for a Q&A which discussed the many different elements and barriers regarding mental health that face men within football, sport and society.
Bristol Rovers Talk Club is part of a behaviour-changing movement aimed at getting men to talk more openly about their thoughts, feelings, worries and day-to-day gripes. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 49 in the UK and approximately three-quarters of all suicides are male.
Bristol Rovers Talk Club takes place every Thursday Evening at The Memorial Stadium from 7pm and any male is welcome to attend. To find out more, check out the official Facebook Group by clicking here
