A Landmark Year: Bristol Rovers Shortlisted for EFL Awards

EFL recognition for community impact, mental health innovation, and fan engagement highlights an outstanding 2025/26 season for BRCT.

This year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate three outstanding achievements. Not only have we been named EFL Sky Bet League Two Community Club of the Season, and have also been shortlisted for the Overall Community Club of the Season award. In addition, The fantastic work undertaken by the Club and Community Trust has also led to a number of other EFL Award nominations.

The awards will take place on Sunday 19 April and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football. Seven additional off-the-pitch awards will also be presented on the night, recognising the outstanding hard work and commitment shown by clubs, players, staff, and supporters away from the field of play.

As the official charity of Bristol Rovers FC, we are extremely proud to share these achievements as a reflection of the impact our team continues to make across the city. Following relegation last season, we faced the challenge of continuing to push ourselves while inspiring others through the positive influence football can have on its community and fanbase.

1. EFL SkyBet League Two Community Club of the Season

Bristol Rovers Community Trust has delivered an exceptional year of measurable, city-wide impact, redefining the role of a football club charity in tackling health inequality, social isolation, and educational disadvantage.

In 2025/26, the Trust launched a groundbreaking two-year collaboration with North Bristol NHS Trust, combining clinical expertise with the reach and influence of Bristol Rovers FC. Together, we delivered 137 health-focused sessions and activations, directly engaging 1,460 participants and reaching over 8,000 supporters through matchday health campaigns.

Bristol Rovers Community Trust is not simply delivering projects - we are delivering systemic, measurable, and scalable change.

The impact is clear: 130+ health sessions delivered, 1,300+ participants engaged, 610,000+ media views and almost 7,000 digital engagements, supported by national coverage from ITV, BBC, EFL and Sky Sports. BRCT demonstrates how football can lead civic change while driving commercial relevance and long-term value.

2. EFL Player in the Community - Taylor Moore, 5K Your Way

Taylor Moore’s nomination recognises his dedication and willingness to use his personal story to inspire and support others within our community.

The 5K Your Way programme is designed to promote both physical and mental wellbeing, encouraging participants to come together for a 5K walk while creating a safe space for open conversations around mental health. To date, we have delivered seven walks, welcomed 50+ participants per walk, achieved 95% repeat attendance, and strengthened community partnerships with Bristol ARC and Bristol Walk Fest.

Several walks have also brought together local organisations and charities, including Talk Club, helping to expand the programme’s reach and impact across Bristol.

Taylor Moore, Bristol Rovers Player added:

“I joined the Club off the back of something very personal that happened with my mum. When someone you love so dearly goes through something like that, it gives you a real wake-up call. When I joined the Club, I sat down with the Community Trust, who do a fantastic job, and told them this meant the world to me. It was a project I really wanted to run. On our last walk, a gentleman told me that for the first time in six weeks he had left his house for something meaningful. To give people that safe space, and let them know they can express themselves and find support, is incredibly powerful. Everyone’s fighting a different silent battle every day. If showing a vulnerable side helps someone else open up, then it’s worth it. No matter where you are, who you are, or what club you support - just understand that you are not alone.”

3. EFL Fan Engagement Award, Sponsored by Live·Team

Having worked closely with the Club to complete this application, we are delighted to have received such a positive response and nomination from the EFL.

Bristol Rovers FC identified the need to strengthen engagement with children and families in order to attract and retain future generations of supporters. Feedback gathered through Fans Forum events and our Supporter Consultation Group highlighted this as a key priority, with supporters keen to understand how the Club planned to increase junior attendance and secure long-term sustainability.

This nomination reflects the strength of that collaborative work and our continued commitment to improving the matchday and club experience for younger supporters and their families.
